Curatorial analysis

Monumental volume unfolds here from an apparent graphic lightness. A continuous, fluid curve governs the entire structure, defining a reclining body that folds in on itself with the solidity of a sculptural mass. The figure dispenses with superfluous anatomical detail to concentrate on the organic roundness of form: the arched arm cradling the head, the sweeping contour of the back and buttocks, and the generous fold of the legs terminating in delicately rendered feet at the lower right.

The entire composition rests on a dialogue of spheres and suspended weights. Beneath the torso, a perfect orb supports or accompanies the bodily mass, functioning as both a physical and visual anchor. Chiaroscuro is resolved through a subtle gradation of lithographic crayon along the lower contours, imparting a three-dimensional curvature that emerges sharply from the pristine white paper. In contrast to the grandiose scale of the body, the spherical and hieratic face preserves an archaic serenity, gazing directly at the viewer with unyielding stillness.

This absolute repose evokes a primordial state, where anatomy does not answer to a fleeting pose but rather to a telluric law of containment and fullness. The stark whiteness of the paper strips the figure of any temporal or spatial reference, leaving it to gravitate within pure silence where human flesh and the pure geometry of the sphere become indistinguishable. The body is ultimately understood as a harmonious vessel of weight and meditative calmness.
