Curatorial analysis

The entire weight of the figure gravitates toward an enveloping curve that dissolves the sharp edges of human anatomy. A colossal body folds in upon itself until it nearly closes into a perfect circle, concentrating its mass in an act of absolute seclusion. At the upper apex, sheltered within the cocoon shaped by its own back, emerges a placid face with stylized features, whose almond-shaped eyes and calm mouth observe the viewer without stridency. The hand resting atop the massive contour and the row of toes barely peeking from underneath are the sole anchors that tether this organic geometry to human scale.

The modeling relies entirely on an exquisite lithographic gradient, where the greasy crayon fades to let the white paper function as an internal light source. There are no backgrounds, cast shadows, or architectural references; the surrounding void is not an absence, but rather a dense atmosphere containing the expansion of form. Contour lines do not sever the space abruptly, modulating instead a velvety transition between skin and air, endowing the print with a tactile, three-dimensional presence that feels closer to carved stone or bronze than to the flat surface of paper.

At the lower right base, four small aligned spheres introduce a sequential rhythm contrasting with the monumental scale of the figure. Arranged in an apparent metamorphosis progressing from a cracked, organic seed-like shape to smooth, compact orbs, these elements condense the evolutionary cycle suggested by the great torso. The correspondence between the curled being and these small spheres establishes a dialogue of origin and scale, wherein the human figure behaves like a living planet or an ancestral vessel guarding the mystery of germination.
