Curatorial analysis

Two weightless bodies burst with chromatic intensity into a chamber of blue silences. The electric magenta of a tight leotard and the coral orange of a light costume abruptly pierce the monochromatic, cold, and calculated atmosphere that governs the setting. In this 120 by 120 centimeter expanse, the thermal clash between the dancers' warmth and the cool serenity of the surrounding space functions not as mere ornament, but as the engine driving the kinetic energy across the entire canvas.

The scene is articulated upon an architecture of metaphysical resonances and clean geometries. Cubes, floating pedestals, arches, and columns intertwine through transparencies hinting at musical instruments and low-relief human silhouettes, like frozen echoes within the walls. Against this orthogonal, static rigidity of cobalt, cerulean, and emerald green tones, the female bodies unfold an absolute organic tension. Dorsal arches, twisting ankles, and the millimetric extension of limbs carve ascending diagonals that defy gravity. A continuous oscillation between precarious balance and contained flight ensues; their feet barely graze the edges of the blocks without ever fully resting upon them, turning cubic mass into an optical springboard.

The acrylic is handled with a double technical discipline. While the figures receive a rigorous anatomical treatment characterized by soft transitions, where light accentuates tendon strain and muscular volume, the architectural surfaces alternate limpid glazes with a tactile texture perceptible on the foreground planes. This material duality heightens the gap between the oneiric, almost scenographic environment and the vitality of flesh in motion. Salvador Ávalos does not simply freeze a choreography; he confronts two opposing natures: the mathematical order that encloses the world and the vital pulse that refuses to remain still.
