Curatorial analysis

A lime-green radiance situated at the geometric center breaks through the restraint of the blues and greys, establishing itself as the true gravitational axis of the piece. At the intersection of two offset quadrangular modules, this luminous core concentrates an energy that spreads toward the adjoining triangular facets. Edwin Cantillo articulates pictorial space here not through emphatic outlines, but through tonal gradients of immense precision that transform two-dimensional figures into virtual prisms or concavities, suggesting an architectural volume suspended in emptiness.

The background is structured into stepped horizontal bands in ranges of slate, muted cerulean blue, and deep petroleum. Across this neutral and calm setting, the two faceted modules generate a dialogue of opposing diagonal tensions. Each of the triangles composing the cubes modulates light and shadow independently, recreating an optical play of projections and recessions where the matter seems to refract an internal illumination. The surface application, executed with an exceptionally smooth and seamless blending, deliberately suppresses the imprint of the brushstroke to favor structural clarity and perceptual illusion.

In the lower section, two parallel lines of pristine green mark the edge of the plane, functioning as a chromatic foundation that stabilizes the weight of the polyhedra above. This repetition of the phosphorescent hue establishes a direct visual rhythm with the central quadrant, prompting the eye to travel between the grounding base and the weightlessness of the center. The surface thus behaves as an optical device and a study in luminous harmonies, where the purity of geometric design resolves into a hermetic, serene atmosphere of subtle spatial resonance.
