Curatorial analysis

A categorical black line governs the surface, compartmentalizing space with the assertiveness of medieval stained glass. Far from fragmenting, this continuous contour articulates an unusual coexistence between earthly architecture and celestial matter. The figures do not inhabit a conventional landscape, but rather a poetic diagram where physical scale has been replaced by emotional affinities and gestures of cosmic proximity.

In the upper tier, a body arched over the roof of an elemental house defies gravity to brush a compact white cloud with its fingertips. Below, along a resting axis, a figure dressed in pale pink contemplates the scene from a blue armchair resting directly on the dark green meadow, dissolving any separation between domestic interior and open field. To the right, a third character in a dancing contortion interacts with yellow stars that fall or rise like windblown leaves. At the exact center, a larger star encloses a serene, cerulean moon face, acting as the quiet eye that balances the opposing forces.

The oil paint settles in opaque, uniform planes, without tonal gradations or shading aimed at volume. Light emanates exclusively from the contrast between chromatic masses: the desaturated lilac of the upper atmosphere against the luminous cadmiums and the deep green of the ground. This deliberate abandonment of classical perspective shifts the narrative into pure two-dimensionality, where each hue performs a decisive graphic role.

By dissolving the boundaries between the astronomical and the domestic, the painting proposes a universe of tactile affections where stars can be gathered by hand and the sky can be touched from the roof of home. A playful placidity transforms nocturnal mystery into an endearing territory, suspended between daydream and visual fable.
