Curatorial analysis

A carpet of violet corollas presses upward from the base of the canvas, challenging the customary notion of a horizon. Rather than receding toward a traditional vanishing point, the botanical mass rises with physical density, accumulating petals with defined edges and dark centers that saturate the gaze across the lower third. It is a botanical surge that seeks not to document an exact species, but to construct a vibrant chromatic tide.

Opposite this compact proliferation, the upper half dissolves into a vertical curtain where the medium takes on a watery fluidity. Drips of pale ochre, earthy greens, and diluted whites run down like luminous rain or light filtering through distant foliage. This gestural background interrupts the solidity of the blossoms and opens up an atmospheric breathing space, allowing pigment to trickle by gravity and establishing a direct dialogue between control and accident.

The transition between both zones constitutes the true dramatic core of the painting. A few scattered corollas detach from the cluster and climb individually along slender stems that seem to defy the downward drips, suspended like notes on an irregular staff. The violet, pure and self-contained, converses with the golden warmth of the background without neutralizing it: the coolness of the lilac vibrates with greater intensity against the earthy undertones.

The painting oscillates between the microcosm of a dense undergrowth and the pure abstraction of the pictorial plane. By omitting open skies or solid ground, the path suggested in the title is traveled not by foot but by the eye, moving continually from dense matter toward the dissolution of light.
