Curatorial analysis

Five apples hover in strict horizontal suspension across the lower third of the canvas. Three of them exhibit a metallic patina, as though cast in pewter or burnished silver, while the remaining two abruptly disrupt the cadence by igniting in a vibrant, synthetic, and polished cobalt blue. Each fruit casts a distinct shadow to its right against the back plane, as if floating just inches away from a sealed wall struck by a raking light from the left.

Behind this suspended row, the background unfolds as a tactile palimpsest. The acrylic builds the surface through layers of sienna, ochre glazes, and transparencies, through which textile imprints, spatula scrapings, and dried drips emerge. A band of Gothic-style calligraphy traverses the middle register, partly eroded and worn by the apparent age of the support. Near the lower edge, several rusted bolt heads bleed small vertical traces of reddish corrosion, reinforcing the feel of an industrial gate or a weathered portal.

The title, synthetic and evocative of an electronic pulse or a radar signal, introduces an immediate friction against the medieval and tactile atmosphere of the space. This contrast between the artificial vibration of the final two fruits and the clay-like warmth of their surroundings generates a suggestive alteration: the organic object relinquishes its natural role to become a signal or an enigma suspended before the viewer.
