Curatorial analysis

An obsessive vertical pulse commands this monumental canvas measuring over two meters in width. Hundreds of chromatic filaments, rendered with almost seismic discipline, drop from the upper shadows and climb from the flanks, gathering into a basin of pure incandescence. The darkness encircling the scene is not a passive void; it acts as a dense space pressing the paint toward the lower center, compelling the flares to compress into a blazing concavity where blues, yellows, and vermilions melt into a high-frequency, violet-tinted white.

The rhythm builds through a rigorous accumulation of acrylic incisions. Even though each stroke preserves an unyielding verticality, shifts in density, height, and saturation carve out a large, suspended parabola. A constant tension vibrates between the stillness of the individual lines and the collective wave they imply: the viewer's eye does not rest on a static focal point, but rather slides down the curve into the floor of the luminous valley, drawn as if by a gravitational or electromagnetic pull. Toward the outer lateral edges, beams of deep blue and red operate as buttresses that contain the outward pressure of the central light.

The panoramic scale heightens the physical confrontation with the canvas. Cristian Navarro translates the concept of a mountain, invoked by the title, not into tangible rock formations, but into an architecture of pure energy and cosmic resonance. The resulting structure brings to mind a celestial amphitheater or the visual readout of an unfathomable natural event, a storm of particles or a geological fault observed from deep within the earth. It is an artwork that dwells precisely on the threshold between pictorial matter and the manifestation of light, proving how the repetitive order of a mark can collapse the dark into an overwhelming brilliance.
