Curatorial analysis

A wash of amber radiance suspends the scene between a recognizable settlement and purely atmospheric vibration. Across a panoramic format spanning nearly two meters, the eye travels along an undulating terrain where luminosity does not merely fall from the sky, but seems to emanate from the very crust of pigment, embedded in a tide of golden particles that envelops everything.

Out of that granular pulsation emerge clusters of dwellings. Toward the flanks, with particular density in the right third, geometric fragments of cobalt blue, carmine red, and cadmium yellow pile into stepped structures, intersected by thin dark incisions that suggest antennas, utility posts, and corrugated roofs. These touches of primary color act as firm anchors against dissolution, lending the hillside an intricate, human pulse. The center, by contrast, gives way to a depression where architectural matter disintegrates into pulverized flecks, as though the entire slope were evaporating under a scorching haze.

The physical density of the paint imposes an unavoidable tactile rhythm. Palette knife work, dragged layers, and accumulated impasto turn the surface into a mineral bas-relief, whose roughness catches and reflects the room's ambient light as the viewer moves. In the upper register, this agitation yields to a burnished, continuous copper sky that compresses the weight of the settlement toward the ground. In that contrast between the fragility of the dwellings and the consecrated glow of gold, the hill transcends marginal chronicling to rise as a mythical territory, where everyday precariousness is transfigured into pure luminous presence.
