Curatorial analysis

The eye immediately falls into a chromatic paradox: while the city explodes in a euphoria of fuchsia, yellow, orange, and green stripes, the epicenter of the painting remains in rigorous black and white. That rooftop pool, with its diving board, metal ladder, and the sun terrace enclosing it like a protective shell, completely renounces color. This deliberate tonal void turns the private space into a kind of photographic negative or silent pause in the face of the visual overload of its surroundings.

Around that monochrome calm, skyscrapers rise and tilt like elastic giants threatening to enclose the view. Built from festive geometry and a marked black outline that defines each plane, the buildings evoke both the imposing silhouette of Art Deco and the playful stridency of contemporary graphics. There is no adherence to gravity or classical perspective here; the towers fan out and bend, compressing the space and guiding the gaze toward an unexpected horizon where a sea of spiraling crests supports a sky populated with cotton-like clouds.

The acrylic medium is applied in flat, smooth, and decisive surfaces, reinforcing the synthetic character of a landscape that oscillates between pop fantasy and architectural satire. The sinuous railing surrounding the terrace acts as a psychological and physical border between sanctuary and outer spectacle. This coexistence between the chromatic excess of the metropolis and the achromatism of leisure suggests readings of isolation at high altitudes, the loneliness of luxury, or simply the artifice of a dreamed urban realm where the water refuses to reflect the sky.
