Desde las Alturas

An extreme plunging perspective completely disrupts the gravity of the domestic space, pulling the gaze toward a dizzying vanishing point. The room does not obey Euclidean laws: the walls seem to buckle under a centrifugal force, and planes fracture into vibrant bands of yellow, orange, and cerulean blue. The black-and-white checkered floor, a classic device of perspectival order, is distorted here into a vortex that seems to yield under the imaginary weight of the objects.

Within this oscillating stage, furniture and living beings acquire an almost liquid elasticity. To the left, a stylized chest of drawers arches in defiance of structural stability, crowned by two felines with piercing gazes. A third cat, slender and red, guards the threshold of an open door whose misaligned frame reveals an anteroom with a mirror reflecting, like an infinite echo, a solitary armchair. To the right, counterweight is established by monumental calla lilies emerging from a tilted vase; their fleshy stems, veined leaves, and whitish petals invade the frame against a scarlet background of intense luminous pulse.

The black contour line, precise and of varying thickness, functions to contain an overflowing, electric palette. There are no gradual shadows or naturalistic chiaroscuro; light emanates directly from the purity and frontal collision of pigments. By juxtaposing motifs of everyday intimacy with the dynamism of a carnival or a lucid dream, private space sheds its usual stillness to reveal itself as a playful, tense territory saturated with feline mystery.
