Curatorial analysis
An elastic feline, bathed in green and cobalt blue, plunges along a dizzying diagonal that splits the canvas in two. There is no conventional gravity in this scene; the animal seems to slide down a verticalized surface that defies any notion of traditional perspective. Its arched body and the circular torsion of its haunches swiftly guide the eye toward fixed, penetrating eyes, establishing an immediate axis of tension between the dynamism of a leap and the stillness of a predator lying in wait.
Beneath its body, the tablecloth abandons its passive condition as a domestic object to become a vibrant rhythmic field. Waves of luminous yellow and bubblegum pink interlace through dark, sinuous lines, generating an almost hypnotic cadence that seems to ripple under the cat's tread. In the upper quadrant, a still life crowned by the fleshy red pulp of a watermelon, ripe bananas, and rounded fruits rests upon a blue bowl; this vessel is itself stationed atop a concentric vortex in tones of orange and fire, operating as a warm chromatic anchor. Toward the corners, a geometric weave of hexagons in muted greens, ochres, and deep garnets introduces a rigorous counterpoint that reins in the undulating expansion of the canvas.
The acrylic is worked with tangible density, evident in the impasto textures on the fruit and the tactile modulation across the feline anatomy. The coexistence between the unbridled sensuality of the arabesques and the corner geometry poses an unresolved struggle between domestic order and feral instinct. In the end, the animal does not merely invade an ordinary still life: it inhabits and transforms it into a landscape in full sensory boiling, where the set table sheds its familiar scale to become a living territory of pure visual drive.
