Curatorial analysis

A ceremonial hierarchy dominates the surface. Ten female figures are arranged in a rigorous pyramidal structure, flanked by a scarlet-red background saturated with concentric circles that vibrate like an optical tessellation. At the apex, a crowned central figure presides over the assembly with almost liturgical solemnity, while the others descend in successive tiers, multiplying the same archetypal presence. Frontality is absolute; the elongated faces, with slender necks and heavy eyelids, maintain an enigmatic gaze that avoids direct contact, favoring an introspective distance.

The treatment of the garments turns the canvas into a meticulous catalogue of textures and ornaments. Each gown unfolds its own microcosm where stippling, gilded spirals, geometric meshes, and floral embroidery coexist in shades of turquoise, lilac, ochre, and muted green. This decorative density deliberately flattens spatial depth, fusing the bodies with the background plane and echoing the graphic purity of an icon or a medieval tapestry. Volume is barely suggested; what sustains the visual weight is the rhythmic alternation of patterns and the patient application of acrylic, executed with a precision reminiscent of textile goldsmithing.

In the arms of each woman rest bunches of dark anthuriums, tinted deep burgundy and dotted with luminous contours. The plant does not function here as a mere floral ornament: its repeated presence in the hands of all figures assumes the character of a symbolic attribute, an object of shared offering or devotion that anchors the scene in an esoteric rite. By linking the botanical cadence with the sacralized attire, the scene suspends profane time to settle into a realm of courtly elegance, static and mesmerizingly circular.
