Curatorial analysis

An almost mineral density defines the slopes in the foreground. There are no individual leaves or branches visible in the traditional manner; instead, the vegetation is articulated through thousands of small spherical modules reminiscent of lichen architecture or the arrested swell of an impenetrable forest. These masses, rendered in a deep, somber petroleum green, advance across the canvas, creating a textured surface where each lobe receives an exact touch of cool light, granting them an unusual sculptural weight within the landscape tradition.

Moving outward from this dense massif, the eye glides toward the serene flow of the water. The river or inlet folds into clean meanders, guiding the journey toward the background in a rigorous exercise of aerial perspective. The successive hills lose contrast and materiality as they recede, transitioning from dark green to slate blue and finally to translucent grey. On the right, a cluster of isolated trees with rigorously globular canopies guards the riverbank like sentinels of a quiet order, emphasizing the deliberate geometric stylization that sustains the entire scene.

The fog does not function here as a mere atmospheric veil, but as a luminous body that suspends time. In the cleft between the distant ridges, that silvery vapor radiates a white clarity that reverberates across the mirrored water, generating the sole point of high luminosity in a setting dominated by crepuscular gloom. The total absence of human figures or buildings heightens a sense of metaphysical stillness: the territory seems to exist in a primordial state, preserved in a moment where the earth's breath becomes visible.
