Frequently asked questions
How do I buy a work?
Choose a work in the catalogue and request a quotation. Availability is subject to confirmation with the gallery and the works are subject to prior sale. A reservation is made through a deposit, whose amount, term and conditions both parties agree in writing. The quotation is valid for 10 calendar days from its issue date.
Do prices include taxes and shipping?
Unless expressly stated, prices do not include applicable taxes, special packing, transport, insurance or export costs.
Do you ship outside Costa Rica?
Yes, the gallery ships worldwide. Shipping is quoted separately from the price of the work. The service includes specialized packing, customs clearance for international shipments, insurance for the work while in transit, and land, air and sea transport. Installation outside Costa Rica is agreed with each client.
What is the certificate of authenticity?
It is the Sello Valanti certificate, digitally signed by Galería Valanti. It certifies the authenticity of the work identified in the document and its authorship, according to the data recorded in it. The gallery issues it for works by the artists it represents, and every certificate it issues is recorded and can be verified online.
How do I verify a certificate?
Go to “Verify a certificate”, upload the PDF or type the code printed on it, which has the form VAL-XXXX-XXXX. The site tells you which work it certifies, whether it is still valid and whether the document is the one the gallery issued.
Can I consign a work with the gallery?
Yes. You can consign a work for the gallery to sell: write to the gallery on WhatsApp from the “Consign a work for the gallery to sell” link on the Services page.
Does the gallery appraise works of art?
Yes. The appraisal determines the estimated market value of a work and includes a technical analysis of its physical condition, with a condition report and a written report. The gallery also appraises private collections. The cost is quoted by the gallery from the Services page.
Where is the gallery and when can I visit?
